Hi Crystal, i really enjoyed your presentation! I found your argument about TikTok being a place where young Asian Australian women can connect and have a place of digital belonging to be really insightful and definetly made me realise how something as simple as an app like TikTok can mean such different things for people and have so many different purposes. Based on that i have a couple questions to ask you.

    1. Throughout the presentation theres a reccuring theme i noticed which is that you argue TikTok shapes cultural identity in presumably a good way, on the contrary though do you think it can indirectly reduce a culture to just trends where it may not mean as much to be a part of a community, or rather can a culture become a trend more than a culture and is that harmful?

    2. In your presentation you have 2 examples of how TikTok can enable relate-ability in a culture, one was about what its like to be Asian in Australia and the other was the Get ready with me trend with specific relation to the creator known as Tina Yong, do you think focusing on big influencers might create a biased view of the cultural experience compared to everyday users who are also part of that culture?

    3. So as you described because of the nature of TikTok and the way it was designed, this sense of community is very strong because of the way you can comment, repost ect. Would you say the outcome would be different had you looked into another platform like instagram?

Thanks again, i look forward to your reply!
