Hi Kelsea, I really enjoyed your presentation and found it very interesting, and I enjoyed how excited and interested in the topic you were. It was super informative, and you were very well spoken 🙂
I do have some discussion questions for you,
Firstly, in your presentation, you mentioned cancel culture and harassment in reference to TikTok. Could you expand on the influence of negative media on TikTok, and explain how these dynamics might affect your research group?
Secondly, I was really interested in how you mentioned that Facebook offers more accessible technological affordances for navigation compared to TikTok and that your demographic tends to value community-based interaction. I was wondering if you could expand more on what appeals to your demographic about TikTok.
Thirdly, you highlighted the addictive nature of the algorithm on TikTok as a central affordance. Could you elaborate on how this algorithm functions as a key affordance, and explain in more depth how it impacts your target demographic?
