Good morning! I found your presentation on the Queer Community’s interactions on TikTok to be very insightful. If I may, the questions I would like to pose for discussion are:

    1. When the topic of a lack of safety within offline environments for queer individuals was brought up, it made me want to ask more about what ways the outside world can make those who align with the queer community feel uncomfortable, hurt or unsafe, compared to interactions and community spaces on social media platforms like TikTok, as your presentation discussed?

    2. The idea of liking posts or videos and commenting on them was something I found intriguing as a major point of sparking interaction. How does online support, such as liking a post and commenting on it help branch out to interactions that support the idea of emotional validation that these actions can accomplish?

    3. The point of the platform’s algorithm promoting content based on personal tastes sparked my curiosity on a particular matter. How does queer users being recommended content that either caters to the queer community or are relatable to queer users help strengthen the social or communicative affordances of members of the queer community?

Those were some points that I would love to hear your input for, given that I found your presentation to be incredibly simple yet insightful on understanding how significant the online landscape is for the queer community. Thank you for your time!
